"So the result would be X square plus three X minus five equals to zero."

I groaned and quietly banged my head against the table as the teacher explained her lesson.

I hate math.

I took the pencil from my desk and quietly ripped a paper from my book and started to write on it.

I'm bored

I crumpled the piece of paper and threw it right at Caroline's head and she scowled in response, making me chuckle. She rubbed her head a few times as she unfold the paper and started writing something on it.

I waited for her response while doodling on my book and not long after, a piece of crumpled paper landed right in front of me.

We continued doing this for a good minute, until I accidently hit the crumpled piece of paper right at the teacher's head.

"Were you even paying attention to anything I said?"

"Yessss....?"

"Explain how you solve the quadratic equation using the quadratic formula." Shit. Uh okay, stay calm. Don't panic.

I stood from my chair and grabbed the marker, writing a bunch of random numbers on the board. I'm definetly getting detention. I thought to myself as the teacher inspects the board.

"Detention this afternoon!"

I groaned and walked back to my seat, earning a sympathic look from Caroline as she mouted 'sorry'.

I drew random shapes and things on my notebook until the lesson finished and packed my stuff in my bag before exiting the class.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" I nodded and Caroline and I part ways, me heading to detention.

I walked inside the classroom and casually sat in one of the desks, leaning my head against my hand. I sat in the seat farthest away from Connor and kept my mouth shut. Of course he would be here.

"Hey y/n!" Yeah screw him.

"What brings you here? Caught making out with a random nerd in the hallways?" His bestfriend, Jake, teased, earning a laugh from Connor. Why are these guys so obsessed with my love life?

"Speaking of random nerds..." Connor said as Tom entered the class. I gave him a questioning look and he just shrugged.

"How did you end up here?" Tom asked as he took a seat next to me, ignoring Connor.

"Threw paper at the teacher. You?"

"Got framed by these two." He said, nodding towards Jake and Connor like they weren't even there.

"What happened?" Connor scoffed and gave us a look of disbelief that said 'you know we can hear you, right?'

Tom and I ignored the two troublemakers as he explained about them teasing him in the hallway, causing him to punch Jake in the face.

"What did they say?" Tom stayed silent and I turned towards Connor and Jake who were sitting in the back of the class.

"What did you say?" Connor just shrugged as he smirked, causing me give him an annoyed glare as the teacher entered the class.

I played with a random pencil that was on the desk as the teacher talked, drowning her voice. At some point I got bored of her long speech and threw a tiny piece of eraser to Tom.

"Ow, what?!" He whispered as he turned to face me while the teacher was talking to the other students here.

"Is she seriously going to talk all day? I'd rather clean the bathroom." Everyone might think I'm mad, but for those who had sat in detention listening to Mrs. Thompson's talking would agree with me.

"Why don't you suggest that?"

"No, you." I whispered back after checking if the teacher was still talking to the student.

Before Tom and I could say another word, Jake grabbed all of our attention, including the teacher. "Honestly, can you please just give us our punishment now?"

Thank you, Jake.

"Fine, you three clean the bathroom." She pointed towards a group of students sitting far away from us.

"And the four of you clean the hallways." She pointed towards Connor, Jake, Tom and I.

I was about to object when she gave me a stern glare, telling me to shut up.

I knew I should have sat far away from those two.

Connor and Jake looked just as pissed as Tom and I were about the grouping, but the teacher left us no time to discuss, and quickly ushered us out of the class before we could complain.

"Would you look at that. We're stuck with you two. Again..." Connor muttered.

"We're just as unhappy about this as you are." I grumpily stated as I walked towards the janitor closet, not waiting for the others, to take the cleaning supplies.

"No, you take this. I'll have the mop." Jake took the mop from my hands and I gave him a look before sighing in defeat and taking the broom from the corner of the cramped room. I had no more energy to argue with him, my stomach was complaining and that was already stressful enough.

"Hey what's this?" Connor said as he reached out to take something tucked under the many layers of cleaning supplies, not paying attention to the cloth that was on the floor. He slipped and bumped into Tom, who bumped into Jake, who bumped into me.

I let out a groan and clutched my side, trying to pry Jake off me. It was no use really, since everyone was on top of each other and I was the victim who had to suffer all their weight.

"Dude, really?" Jake slapped Connor in the arm as he got off me, finally letting me stand.

"You could've warned me!" Tom stood beside me as we watched the two fight.

I sighed and picked up the mop, much to Jake's protests, before holding onto Tom's hand, bringing him outside with me.

"Let's get this over with. I'm hungry and I'm tired and I'm hungry." I said, harshly dipping the mop into the bucket, plashing the soapy water everywhere.

"Calm down." Tom laughed and held the mop, stopping me from aggressively dipping it into the bucket.

We cleaned, and cleaned for the next hour; Connor and Jake stopped arguing and eventually joined us at some point.

"Give me back my mop." Jake argued for the five hundredth time the past fifteen minutes.

"No. Get your own." I unraveled his fingers from the mop. He wouldn't let go and the best I've managed to do was get three fingers off the mop.

"Come on, it's my turn now." He pulled on the mop and I stumbled forward, causing me to laugh in surprise.

"Let go!" I playfully growled and pulled back, but the stubborn guy who now had a grin on his face wasn't letting go.

I heard Connor groan in the background, but the both of us paid no mind to it and continued fighting for our lives.

"Fine. Fine, you win." I sighed and gave Jake the mop, trying to catch my breath. He smirked and made a cheesy comment, which I didn't pay attention to, about winning against me.

I walked back towards Tom, broom in hand, and started sweeping the farther side of the hallways. Tom was surprisingly quiet the entire time and only spoke about two to three words with me; he's usually the talkative one most of the times when it comes to the two of us.

That's odd.
