....
'Parent stuff'
He didn't lie. He would never lie to her.
Izuku was dealing with family matters... A forced family meeting would be the closest term he could use to describe it.
'Ha. If only it were that simple.' The boy thought as he stepped into the bar, slamming the door shut heavily.
This caught the attention of the bar's few patrons.
A man with light blue hair sat in a barstool. When his eyes landed on Izuku, he rolled his eyes.
"There you are..." His voice was guttural, raspy, and slightly high pitched. It was quite creepy if you asked Izuku. "I thought we'd have to send someone to collect you..."
A chill ran down the boy's spine as he heard the word 'collect' but he played it off as if nothing happened.
A dry chuckle left the boy as he averted his eyes, nearing the bar. "No need, Shiggy." He placed a hand on the man's shoulder, knowing it would annoy him. "I'd never stand up my favorite brother on such an important day."
The blue-haired villain shrugged off the other man's hand with a groan, dusting off his shoulder as if Izuku carried some horribly infectious disease.
"Oh, you wound me, hand man..." The teenager's voice dripped with disinterest as he looked around.
"And it's Shigaraki or Tomura. Not 'Shiggy'." Shigaraki's tone was mocking on the last word.
"Whatever you say, crusty." It was obvious that Izuku wasn't focused on the villain beside him as he scanned the bar, sitting down.
"Where's Lark?" He asked. If he was going to have to stay there for the next few hours, he at least wanted to talk to someone interesting.
"He should be around here somewhere. You know he wouldn't miss the chance to congratulate you."
A man standing behind the bar, cleaning glasses caught Izuku's attention by clearing his throat.
Green eyes locked onto the purple smoke that make up his body.
"I can let him know you're here if you'd like."
Izuku nodded. He thought that Kurogiri (the man) was just kissing up to him because he was the boss' son, but he didn't really care.
In less the 5 minutes, a boy came rushing down the hall, and entered the bar area.
He was about seventeen, and was a few inches taller than Izuku. (So around 6'0)
Fluffy light brown hair sat on top of his head, and a pair of injured brown wings sat on his back.
He was breathing heavily when he sat down beside the greenette, as he had run there.
"Deku!" He greeted the younger boy cheerfully, still catching his breath.
"Hey, Lark." Izuku flashed a small smile at his friend. "Dudedudedude— C-Can I see your letter?!"
He could tell how excited the teenager was that he got in. That almost got a laugh out of Deku (Izuku's villain name). Almost.
"It's not a letter, but go ahead, knock yourself out." Deku slid the torn envelope across the countertop to the light-haired villain who practically pounced on it, pulling out a circular disk thing.
A hologram of All Might popped up and Lark could barely contain himself, freaking out at how well the plan was going.
"Holy cow— Not only did you get in, but ya' got first place?!" The bird-like boy nudged Izuku's arm. "Dude you're a freaking powerhouse! I need to see that quirk of yours in action sometime."
Deku just nodded and said "One day."
Kurogiri spoke up again, turning to the three males. "How about a toast to celebrate?" The warp villain suggested, picking up a bottle of whiskey from behind the bar.
The undercover villain nearly choked on air, sending Lark into a laughing fit.
"A who?" "A toast!" "L-Like with alcohol? I'm undera—"
"Underage?" Lark started howling with laughter again. "I'm pretty sure the legality ship sailed away the day you joined us, man."
'True.' He thought to himself.
"Just give it a try, Deku. Just this one time. You should celebrate! After today you're not gonna get a chance to relax for a while."
Deku weighed out the pros and cons. He still had to visit [Y/N] after this, but just one shot wouldn't hurt, right?
"Just one."
A full shot glass was placed in front of the boy as the surrounding men watched in hidden anticipation.
He took a deep breath, not pleased by the horrendous smell, raised the glass and drank it in one big gulp. "Ugh." He gagged. The liquid burned his throat on the way down and triggered a coughing fit.
Lark started cracking up at this, remembering his first drink going even worse.
Shigaraki cracked a grin and snickered.
A second passed, and Izuku was fine, minus the foul taste in his mouth.
"That definitely had a kick to it..."
They made idle chat for a while, and Izuku noticed that he was starting to feel a bit tipsy, but ignored it. Then, Deku noticed it was getting late.
He still wanted to stop by [Y/N]'s with enough time to get home and rest, so he felt that he should rap this up quickly.
He said goodbye to Lark and Kurogiri. Shigaraki was always grumpy, so Izuku liked to keep the pestering to a minimum.
Standing up, the boy stretched and started to walk down the hall towards where his bedroom was, but he was stopped mid stride when he heard Lark's voice.
"Hey, I thought you were leaving." The boy took a sip from his drink as he held a confused expression.
"I am, I just have to brush my teeth."
"Why?"
Izuku pointed at his mouth as he spoke. "Whiskey breath."
Lark stared in silence for a bit as he tried to figure out why that mattered.
"...Oh! Yeah, sometimes I forget you still live with your mother." The brunette chuckled. "That's not super common around here.
Translation: "...Oh! Yeah, sometimes I forget that your parents still love you. Can't relate."
Deku just nodded. It's not like he could say the real reason. "I don't want to kiss my secret girlfriend when my mouth tastes like alcohol", so he just went along with Lark's assumption.
...
When Izuku came back he gave Lark a quick side hug.
"Tell All for One I-" "Father." Kurogiri interrupted. "*sigh* Tell father I said hi."
Then, Deku left the hideout, rolling his eyes.
He examined the sky. It looked like the sun had gone down an hour or so ago, so it was probably around eight or nine.
'I have time to see [Y/N].' A longing expression took over his face at that.
He knew he felt the effects of the whiskey settling in, but he couldn't help it. It was like he needed his nightly dose of [Y/N] to function.
And so, he was off to her house.
** A/N: Just to make sure y'all know, the 'he knew he felt the effects of the whiskey settling in, but he couldn't help it.' wasn't foreshadowing. Nothing bad happens when he goes to see [Y/N], he's just slightly more confident. And I also don't support underage drinking, I was just bored and felt like adding it (alcohol is a tool I use a lot in my stories so hopefully that doesn't bother you, although I'm pretty sure this'll be the last time Deku drinks) **
