Cavities Can Kiss My Ass
The details from the conversation stayed stuck in my mind until the next day. Just from eavesdropping, I found things out that Sebastian would never have told me. But, what was I supposed to do with it all? The only answer that was possible consisted of waiting for him to finally open up to me.
This brought along another issue. People had various ways of opening up to others. Whether it be their body language, or words. Sometimes how they say things is a sign, too. How Sebastian might confess to me is a mystery. It could all go downhill, or be pretty calm. I didn't realize how scary the experience would be. Until it happened.
After my volleyball competition, Sunday came right after. It was the day Sebastian had agreed to study with me. A few days before the weekend, he watched me struggle with some artwork.
Although I was quite fond of school work, I needed to do a type of art class for credit. I'd always held it off, but it had officially come back to bite me. Now, there was work that needed to be done in a class that I didn't have much talent in.
I had choices to pick from. The main three were drawing, band, or choir. I'm sure we could guess why the other two weren't chosen. I couldn't play an instrument, and I sure as heck couldn't sing either. That left picking up a pencil and praying.
Sebastian had noticed me getting nowhere on a piece of artwork that was due sometime next week. He offered to help me in exchange for helping him with math. When he made that suggestion, I had to pinch myself to make sure this wasn't a dream.
Sebastian Wyatt was willing to help me with my work, and even accept my help as well. He was even the first to initiate the plan. It was like a fantasy come true.
"Really?" I had beamed, my smile overtaking my face.
"Yeah. Now stop looking at me like that before I change my mind," he sighed.
That began our current study session. We went to my house and laid out some snacks. I made sure most of them were sweet since Sebastian had a sweet tooth. The day I found out about it, our pantry was full of various candies for the next time he came over. Even though my parents looked at me like their daughter was crazy, I was incredibly happy.
Sebastian and I sat in the living room together, on the ground by the coffee table. My hand reached into a bag of potato chips, while Sebastian's unwrapped another sucker. He'd already gone through five of them, making me let out a soft laugh.
"You're going to get a cavity from all that candy," I teased.
"Cavities can kiss my ass," he grumbled, biting into the hardened sugar.
I giggled. "That's a terrible way to go about it."
"I don't give a shit. If I wanna eat candy, I'll eat candy."
