I'm Lydia Martin, mostly known as "The Banshee", back when I was one. Now? I'm no one, or that's what they told me. VOUGHT.

"Your powers, they need development. You're less than average, but don't worry luckily for you, we've got the best team. You'll become more powerful. Invincible. No one will be able to stop you. We're gonna save the world!"

That's what Madelyn Stillwell, the corporate face of Vought told me on my last day in Vought as one of The Seven.

Nothing of what she tried to force into my mind made sense as I tried to refuse her offer, but Vought doesn't take no for an answer, not when they have something in it for them.

That's when things started going south, they threatened to kill my parents if I don't agree to whatever experiments they wanted to run on me, whatever things they had planned to turn me into one of their monsters.

"You're still young, your powers are still malleable," they said.

I was satisfied with my powers, felt like they were good enough to help save the world, but Vought wanted something more powerful.

All they ever cared about was power, not the people, not the world, not like everyone thinks, what they make them think as they force us to wear those fake masks every day, smiling, waving at the people like everything was okay, but the truth is... Nothing ever was.

I took a gulp of my drink noticing A-Train beside the Vought vice-president at a press conference on my TV before turning the volume up to listen to whatever bullshit they're gonna make him say, trying to keep their hands clean after what happened to that woman they had killed.

"...and as you know, A-Train was placed on standard administrative leave until the NYPD could conduct their investigation. Which they've now concluded -- and have ruled no wrong-doing. But that doesn't begin to convey the terrible regret we all feel at this awful, tragic loss..."

That's when A-Train opened his mouth to speak. "My deepest condolences to Robin Ward's family. I was chasing those bank robbers... and she just...stepped into the middle of the street... and I couldn't..."

Yeah, you deserve an Oscar for the excellent performance!

Turning the TV off I was back at what I was doing; searching for the guy that I thought will be my winning card.

"Hugh Campbell," I spoke out loud as if there was someone in the room to hear me.

That guy as far as I know was Robin's boyfriend and what better way to take down Vought than exposing their dirty work?

I know A-Train wasn't on whatever mission he said he was on and I know exactly what they did right there, they're probably bribing the poor guy with some money to keep his mouth shut.
