"Run!" You said quickly as you started running. Katherine sighed as she waited, wanting to see why you were running. She was seriously starting to regret claiming you as the least irritating human. As Damon had pointed out you seemed to have very little self preservation.

A bear came barreling through the woods and she groaned. It charged right past her, which she took to mean you'd irritated the animal. The last time something like this happened you had tried to pet a mountain lion that was hunting you, she assumed you'd tried to pet it.

"(Y/N)!" She called as she hurried through the woods to find you. It wasn't easy. You ran so loudly it was a wonder that you had managed to lose the bear at all in the first place.

"I hope you're pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed." Katherine said sternly.

You looked around to see who else she could have been talking about. Looking back at her with a shrug of your shoulders you smiled sheepishly. "It was just sleeping there against a tree. All I did was boop it on the nose." You said sweetly. She crossed her arms and glared at you for a moment.

"Why would you come across a sleeping bear of all things and poke it! You're literally not supposed to poke a sleeping bear. Is that... is that not a rule that humans follow anymore?" She said in a rather flustered voice.

"I didn't think it would wake up. I was so gentle!"

"You were...! We are supposed to be getting through these woods, alone so I can prove I like you! If you keep poking wild animals and getting chased through the woods I will leave you here and change my mind."

You followed her the way you'd been heading. For a few moments you were quiet and if she couldn't clearly hear your heartbeat she might have been worried you'd walked off again.

"You wouldn't really leave me would you?"

"Yes. but only long enough for you to worry that I'm not coming to get you. It's what you'd deserve for bothering all these things out here. One day you'll poke something that pokes back and that will be the end of you."

"What... what's out here that can poke me back?" You asked curiously.

"I am, and I don't poke, I bite now... walk will you!" She said, finding the whole conversation was dragging.

"Can weird smoke monsters with scary faces poke?" You asked after another brief silence. She stopped walking. Pinched the bridge of her nose. Then turned to you.

"(Y/N). If I look where you're pointing am I going to see some horrifying monster or are you trying to get me to catch you some wild animal? I am not Stefan and I will not catch you a cougar."

"Oh, no there really is a scary smoke monster watching us. It's eating the bear." You said and she turned to see that you were right.

"Oh for the love of...!" She didn't finish what she was saying as whatever it was started to move your way. She quickly snatched at you and shoved you over her shoulder as she rushed through the woods. She could make out the few cars that she'd been told to drop you off at. When she rushed past them she heard one of the doors open and one of the Salvatore brother's shout after her.

"You went too far!" You said through gasps of breath.

"I know I did. Would you like to be attacked by whatever that was?"

"No thank you."

"Right then let me get myself out of here. To be clear, I just happened to be carrying you and it would take too long to drop you off and save myself."

"Oh of course it would." You agreed. If she hadn't been running from whatever was now chasing the cars far down the road she might have dropped you and fixed you with an appropriately hard stare, seeing as your comment sounded overly sarcastic.
