It was quickly December, the morning sickness had become more frequent and I believe Ive been putting on a few pounds. I had been to worried to tell John so he sat in ignorance for the past couple of months.
It was a chilly day, John was at work so I was currently sat in the back of a taxi cab on my way to the hospital. I was worried, If I am carrying the child of my lover, what would happen? Were not even supposed to be doing risque stuff like that. I sighed softly as the taxi pulled up into the hospital parking lot. I paid the driver and got out. I was wearing a pair of jeans with some boots and a hoodie. The hood was pulled up as I walked in with a little help fron the strong wind. I walked in and talked to the receptionist and sat and wait.
After a while of waiting my doctor called me to the back and we were doing the normal stuff, checking my reflex and my lungs and my heart. Then we got on to the topic. "Are you sexually active?" The doctor asked. I sort of nodded. "Yes sir." I said. He looked at me. "Are you being safe?" He asked. I shook my head "Considering the fact that I think their might be a child in my womb, no sir." I said with a soft chuckle. The doctor nodded and left and returned with a pregnancy test and a water bottle. The doctor left the room.
I sighed softly as I watched the second line appear. I sighed softly and asked the doctor for a bag. He brought me a small ziploc bag and I put the pregnancy test in the bag and zipped it up. After that we did the last bits of paper work and I went home. I took off my jacket and smiled widely at the ever excited Marsha. Her whole was jumping and wiggling, I scooped her up and placed a kiss on her head. We sat on the couch and watched a little bit of the facts of life waiting for John to get home. Once John got home, it started snowing. All three of us were sitting on the couch watching Charlies angels. "You know what we should do?" John asked. "Hm?" I responded, looking up at him. I was leaned against the bassist.his arm draped over me, Marsha squished between me and the couch her head resting on my stomach, sound asleep, "Do the christmas tree, we could put on Elvis' christmas album, Ill build the base of the tree, and you can start some hot cocoa." John said, rubbing my arm. I nodded and got up, disrupting the sleeping beauty. I headed into the kitchen and poured some milk into a pan and sat it on the oven as John put on Elvis and started building the tree. I leaned against the doorway and watched as the sweet vocals of the king drifted through the house. I turned around and poured some milk into mugs and put the cocoa powder into the cups and stirred it. After all the powder vanished, I put a couple marshmallows, and some whipped cream. I sifted a cocoa powder and cinnamon mix onto the whipped cream and stuck a peppermint stick in each mug. I walked out the kitchen and into the living room to see a naked lit up tree.
After thirty minutes of decorating, struggling with the christmas beads, fighting over where to put specific ornaments and two cups of hot chocolate John put the star atop our perfect tree. I fixed the skirt and stood up. John smiled softly at me and wrapped an arm around my waist and took his hand in mine. I rested my hand on his shoulder and we sort of just drifted around the living room in a circle. "I love you." John said. "I love you too." I replied, my head leaning against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart, our feet moving in perfect sync as we danced. Marsha watched us dance, almost seeming to smile.
