General Farrokhan is the most dangerous man in Persia. A Sassanid commander of the seventh century, he is famous for relentless conquest and the destruction of cities and churches across the eastern Byzantine empire. But before he can burn a particular church to the ground, he becomes entranced by the story told in one of its mosaics, about a seven hundred year-old trio of Magi whose descendants are feared and revered by his people. Instead of destroying the church as planned, he protects it while the rector recounts the ancient tale of a man from Judah named Melchior, who escapes a life he hates to marry the one he loves. Over the course of many events, both victorious and tragic, the Judean finds himself in Persia, under the tutelage and care of a wise Zoroastrian Magus. Decades later, as the leader of the community, he begrudgingly embarks on a journey with two of his fellow Magi to follow a vague prophecy and a mysterious star. As Farrokhan connects with the story, his life takes a bizarre turn for the worse. One by one the events in his life begin to mirror those of Melchior’s life so many centuries ago, until the commander concludes that he has fallen victim to a curse. But when he returns to the mosaic that began it all he finds the source, not of a curse, but of a grander purpose he is destined to fulfill.

The sound of the roaring thunder, did no justice in making her slip from whatever reverie she was in, the heaviness in her chest felt like a ton of bricks. The misery and anguish she felt was in immerse contradiction to the sight of the lovely lilies and marigolds around her which held immerse life and beauty. The beauty of the clearing,which usually left her fascinated and speechless did not seem as beautiful and lovely as it once had. No it couldn't have, not anymore. Letting out a cry of anguish, she collapsed to the fertile soil, gripping her most definite loveliest gown, she let out a tear of great sorrow, and soon there was another tear, and then another, up until she could feels the sobs racking through her chest. Screeching at the top of her lungs, she could only think of one thing. He was dead, her brother was dead, Jesus was dead Christ was gone

They follow two points of view: the POV of our story tellers, Martha and Lucius, and the POV of the people in the Bible accounts. These POVs are separated by the * symbol. 'David's Mighty Men' tells the story of three men in King David's army who went the extra mile to protect his kingdom and spark bravery in their fellows, when the Philistines had discouraged them all. For their courage and valiance, they earned themselves honourable mentions in 2 Samuel 23. These men are proof that trusting God for protection, and being bold even in times of tribulation, are qualities which only spread and sharpen those around you. When we are willing to risk it all, God can use us the most.
