He must conquer his fear of the unknown and solve the mystery of the mysterious beauty that is his girlfriend and his best friend, who is an assassin. Who is this Dahlia Hawthorne and who is Nicolas De Killer? How are they connected to every part of his life? Two murders, one mystery and a single assassin that may be more of a mystery than Shelly De Killer himself. After being rescued by a teenage greaser wannabe Junior Detective, Dick Gumshoe, Miles Edgeworth makes it his mission to help his father and the prosecutor that saved him from Yanni Yogi's killer. Together, Dick Gumshoe and Miles Edgeworth must investigate, then gather the evidence to be analyized and approved of by the Police Department before the killer finds out. Unfortunately, the killer is also the prosecution attorney for Yanni Yogi's murder. Will Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe beat the killer in his own game or will they become another piece to his mad man's game of cat and mouse?

Set during "Bridge To The Turnabout", where Edgeworth acts as temporary defense attorney for Phoenix and Franziska is the prosecution. The difference with this story is - Pearl and Maya are not trapped at the Inner Temple and missing.
