This story is based from an folk-tail that I remember hearing as a child growing up in southern New Jersey. There is a natural area in NJ known as the (Pine Barrens) it's so thick with briars and growth that people rarely explore it, especially at night.

A short story I wrote for my gothic lit class. It's absolutely ridiculous! Luscious Leed, the Jersey Devil, wants to blend in with human society. He buys a sweater, owns a small cabin in the pine barrens and tries to become a vegetarian so that he doesn't eat people.
