A mid-canon retelling of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, based partially on the 2004 BBC mini-series. After an illicit encounter in Mr Thornton's study on the night of the dinner party, Margaret Hale finds herself struggling to understand the undeniable pull she feels towards this man she once could not stand. The pair find themselves drawn to one another despite their differing views and constant clashes. In the year 1297, the drums of war echo across the Scottish mountains. Life is rough for any man in the rugged highlands, fighting to maintain their freedom from the determined English. Marian McKeegan knows these struggles all too well, as after her home is invaded by soldiers, she is forced to flee into the highlands, alongside her father's prized highland cow, Allison. The wild mountains hold both extreme dangers and beauty, the unforgiving pushing both girl and beast to the brink as they push through the volatile land ravaged by war to sanctuary. Their only chances of survival are each other.

We had an assignment in my English/history class to read William Butler Yeats' "The Stolen Child" and circle at least 10 words and 2 lines that we liked. Then we had to write them on paper in our own poem... with our non-dominant hand. Oh boy. I'm a righty, so lucky me (*not sarcasm*), I was working with the creative right side of my brain. We had to type it, so I decided I'd post mine on here since I'm pretty happy with it and my friends said it was good so here it is.
