From the hallowed halls of the Wattasid Palace in Fès to the sacred zawiyas of Marrakech, the young Mohammed witnesses the rise and fall of rulers and begins to grasp the destiny that awaits him. Due to the devastating effects of the Great Global Cataclysm and the airborne plague pandemic. The entire world has descended into a post-apocalyptic state of desolate underdeveloped wastelands, unable to preserve human, plant or animal life. What is left of the human population is coerced into a highly advanced dome-shaped society to "ensure a more suitable living condition and the safety of all humankind". Unfortunately, the remaining members of humanity would soon realize that they had been lured into an autocratic totalitarian hellscape in which they cannot easily escape.

A short story set in 19th-century London, England. It tells the life of Moorish sculptor Achille Diouf through the eyes of his new housemaid, Hetty Thompson. The divergent worlds of Victorian Britain and African Moorish culture blend and collide, friendships sprout and bloom, and cultural identities are reclaimed -- all beneath the overcast of a harrowing curse, which leads to unforgivable tragedy.
