The importance of your parents and your rights over them

The Kingdoms of Vertice Island are forcibly polite at best, brutally at war at worst. The kingdoms Belmere, known as the Jewel of Vertice, and Valmoor, known as the Stool of Satan, especially so. Syrah, Princess of Belmere, has always been innocently attracted to knowledge and power. Rather unfortunately considering she is a female, born after 7 brothers. But Syrah is content. Until the King of Valmoor has enough of being intimidated and humiliated by Belmere and, in a desperate attempt to win the war, kidnaps the Princess. Belmere sends all its best warriors to save her , including Syrah's betrothed. Meanwhile, Syrah is shock to be learning more about herself while with the enemy than she ever did with her own kin.

This book is a collection of poems I wrote, some from way back in 2023, some rewritten with the same heart, just a clearer voice. It's not perfect. It's not loud. But it's real. Every piece in here is a reflection of the things we go through, the chaos in our heads, the soft parts we try to hide, the hurt we never got to say out loud, and the healing we slowly find along the way. No deep metaphors or fancy words - just whispers. From me, to you. If you love reading between the lines, or if your heart tends to overthink everything... this might feel like home. It explores themes of patience, longing, and inner strength as the girl grapples with feelings of neglect and solitude. Through vivid imagery of crows and the passage of time, the poem captures her emotional journey from waiting for someone to meet her to realizing the importance of self-acceptance and protection. In the end, she vows to protect her younger self, promising that she will never have to wait alone again.

Some time passed and you were on my mind And I'm still trying to make up for last time. When you v isited, it reminded me of when I was a little kid And all of those wonderful things that you did. No one could ever take a mother's place Because all of her love shows on her face. She will never leave you stranded all alone And always let you know that you could come back home. And there's nothing that can compare To a mother's love that will always be there.
