it's the 100th Hunger Games, and the 4th Quarter Quell. 

    this year's twist is: 
          Not only are 4 tributes going to be drawn (two girls, two boys) from each district, the games will last 1 year. And, to top it all off, a child under the age of 10 will be paired up and sent in with one of the tributes.

    Aspen Levi is chosen to be one of the female tributes from District 12, along with her best friend, Holly Black. The male tributes include Colton Jax, a stranger from the well-off part of town, and Flynn Oakley, a scrappy kid who lives next to The Seam. Who will they get as their Small Ones? We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Please do not attempt to recreate it in any form. Additionally, if ideas in this work are similar to that of other writings, it is purely coincidental and I apologize deeply for any inconvenience.
