Anne works for a news agency as an editor in Auckland and lives alone with a dog called Lady and a cat called Gandalf. While grappling with her mental health over the worry of her husband, Anne reforges her relationship with her mother. She fears that her husband could be maimed as a hero and be lost forever as her father had been.
