Françoise Dupont High School has a group of 3 girls, who each own a replica of a Miraculous, ancient jewelry which can give the wielder animal-based superpowers. According to their leader, Lila Rossi, the Miraculous were real, and were given to them by none other than Paris's superheroine, Ladybug. Everyone seems to believe her, not knowing that the Miraculous were in fact, fake. Except for Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who knows that it's a lie since Ladybug was her alter ego. However, when she threatens to expose Lila, the brunette instead asked her to join their little clique, and in exchange, they will help set her up with her longtime crush, Adrien Agreste. Desperate for his attention, Marinette accepts, not knowing what she is getting into.
