We’re just kids In our stupid little world, Sitting on a concrete wall, Watching the world Pass. You see more than I do, But you are teaching me, And I am learning. Observing. And the people out there, Who are crying for their loved ones, And sitting on their thrones, And eating lunch in a little café, And pooping. They don’t know. To them we are exactly like the rest of the world…. Slow. Going through the motions. And to us they Are the same. Stupid. Because although we share A planet, We do not share a world. Sitting on this concrete wall, Watching the city below, And realizing all the Terrible and Wonderful Things that are Moving through our hometown. Our shouts aren’t even A whisper to them. They are nothing, But to us They are a laugh, And hope, And sorrow, And anger. On this concrete wall We exist. We are in And above And below And around All that happens.
