3000 years after the collapse of Terra, Homo Astra only exists by the mercy of the Omniarchs, ancient terraforming satellites that support life on Ares. With the backing of these Gods the planet Ares governs the Inner & Outer Zones of the solar system through trade and the martial strength of the Supervision Army.

The outbreak of a religious crusade sweeping through the Inner protophyll colonies has stirred the Rainmaker to declare war against them, recalling the fleets of the Supervision Army to intercede before their message infects the remaining populations:

"...and Machine said, 'let us make woman in our own image; the progenitor of life.'"

In this strange vision of the future, the legacy of long lost Terra will fight against itself and their enlightened creations for survival. The Age of Ares is over, Aphros is in the ascendant, the Chromosome Wars have begun...
