If only he knew he has been self sabotaging all along, all because his best friend's sister has been haunting his thoughts for a decade.

(This story is a spin off of "Where the spirit meets the bone.", but it can be read as a stand alone, though the storyline will overlap. The character of Rebecca is basically absent in the MCU, so I mostly based it on the fandom's headcanons and my own imagination, so I consider her an original character. She is given a physical description and is Bucky's sister.)
