Salia Carter is in the midst of suffering like several other middle class citizens. The pollution on Earth has increased exponentially and air quality isn't liveable. Everyone has gotten a reality check. Good news folks, NASA has been researching colonizing Mars for centuries, and they're ready conviently. On the other hand, this is bad news for anyone. Tickets to Mars are incredibly overpriced and all government officials and the incredibly wealthy are concerned about helping themselves. Salia and her family are struggling as the rest of the people living near them in the South Heights. They also have a unique struggle, for Salia is Deaf. To be disabled in 2103, is to be a liability. If Salia was able to manage to find the funds for Mars, only her family could go not her. There's so many impossibility to survive for anyone, but this family has a unique struggle. Salia recognizes how broken the world is, and she refuses to succomb to the struggles, and chooses to rise above it. Salia's name means to be strong, and she's determined to do so. She strives to make sure they fix the Earth as much as possible, or leave it in time before it's too late.
