The sea does not stop moving, its waves follow since the beginning of its existence on earth, crashing into the sandy beach and taking some of it and dragging it into it, then another wave returns to throw sand that was pulled by a previous wave to return again to the beach, perhaps that sand was absent from the beach centuries ago, perhaps this was seconds ago Only, this is fate and its expenses.All Rights Reserved

Every summer is a story. That's what some poetic people say. Each second is a letter, each minute is a word. Every day, a new page is written. But, for the Pogues, this summer was more than just a story. It was a novel. Lives changed every time they blinked their formally innocent eyes. When kids are little, treasure hunts are for pirates. But for Everleigh and her twin brother John B, treasure hunts were the reason their dad would avoid telling them anything. Treasure hunts were an excuse to disappear for days at a time. And treasure hunts, were the escape from the inconsistent life of living on The Cut. Bets are made, hands are thrown, and lives are constantly at risk during the hunt of a lifetime. They thought their life of being carefree was over. But to them, being carefree was just a mindset, and if you could handle the pressure... there was no turning back.

I always thought that some things never change. That the beach at sunset would always look the same. That the laughter of loved ones would never fade. That home would always be a place you could return to. But life doesn't ask what we want to keep. It drifts away like a wave, carrying off everything we can't hold tight enough. Now I look back and see the footprints we left in the sand-the ones that disappeared, and the ones that were never meant to last. I remember the summer that was supposed to last forever. I remember the world I used to know. And I remember the version of myself who believed you could be everything to everyone without losing who you are.
