Mr. You's fictitious marriage

After a series of unfortunate events, You Huo, a former officer of the King's Life Guard, is left with little alternative but to marry in haste.
His fictitious marriage partner is a former member of "the death squad" named Qin Jiu. With his high rank and military awards, You Huo assumed his fiancé to be a disabled old man. That fiancé, however, happened to be young and handsome, though unbearably annoying.

I had to create an arranged marriage AU with JiuHuo, because I think it works rather well for them. A story set in an alternative mid 18th-century setting. I just liked researching bits and pieces for the approximate period and throwing in some historical figures in the mix here and there.
I apologize from the start for moving asian characters into european setting! I had no bad intentions with this, I just got this idea and thought why not?! It's an AU! Let it make no sense! 😂
Also, there's no sexism or homophobia there because I said so! At least in my writing I will have it!
I wanted to focus more on their feelings and inner struggles, thus a possibility of OOC, but I think it adds to the story nicely.
