Lacey doesn't have anything going for her. What makes it harder is an abusive father and an abusive boyfriend with no motherly figure. The only mother she has is her stepmother, who is already married, but her father doesn't care. The worst part is that her father owns a strip club, and their house is the top front part of the club, above the entrance and the mini bar. (Yes, I said mini bar. Judge me all you want.) Then the start of a non-normal high school and one of the popular kids, Andrew Velasquez, has to sit next to her.
