Serendipity (Sera) Hansen is a mute. She has been since she saw her parents brutally murdered when she was twelve. Currently in the custody of her carefree, irresponsible aunt, Margaret, she attends a public school in Idaho, the land of potatoes. When hanging out in the library she meets a boy who might just save her. But when things go wrong will his company just end up killing her?
