Sera-
I breathed a sigh of relief as the countryside of desert and brambles suddenly became houses and gas stations.
"Are we there yet?" I wrote on my notepad.
"Finally here," Aunt Margaret said as she turned into a driveway.
The house was a quaint little thing. It ends up that the woman who lived here died last week. I shuddered to think about it as I stepped inside. The inside was a faded, comforting ocher which was stark in contrast to the baby blue and robin's egg aqua outside. I set off to explore. Right inside the door was the living room. If you walked straight then there was a kitchen. However, If you turned right there was a corridor with three bedrooms and a bathroom. The first room I went into was a lilac master bedroom, obviously Aunt Margaret's. The second was a rather small cream and tan room with a walk in closet. Then A yellow and pink bathroom. Finally, She arrived at the end bedroom which, conveniently, was locked.
With a sigh I knelt down and took a bobbi pin out of my purse. Swiftly, I picked the lock. I had had plenty of practice when Aunt Margaret had locked me out of the old house. Standing back up I turned the handle. I walked in and instantly claimed it as mine. It was pretty really. The walls were a dark grey and the trim was black. It was....tiny. The closet had the swinging doors that opened from side to side and the room itself was only about six feet by six feet.
Aunt Margaret came in, "I take it this is now yours."
When I nodded so vigorously that I got dizzy and had to lean against the wall for support she chuckled and left me to unpack.
