Sera pushed the very last box, full of her knick-knacks, Into the U-Haul truck. She walked around to the passenger door and climbed in. Today was the day that they were moving all the way from Oklahoma to Idaho. She shuddered to even think about it. They were most likely to live in a teepee, eat potatoes for the rest of their lives, and be constantly harassed by buffalo.

"Hey, Girlie." said her aunt Margaret, climbing in. She started the truck and started driving.

Sera pushed her headphones onto her ears. She turned on The Lonely by Christina Perri on her iPod.

Sera's full name was Serendipity. Serendipity was a little bit different than most teenage girls of sixteen for Serendipity was in fact a mute. She hadn't spoken a word since her twelveth birthday. She didn't have any vocal chord problems, she was a selective mute. She chose to be mute. No one but her knew why. And in Sera's point of view, nobody cared enough anyway.

With that thought she rested her head against the window and fell asleep.
