Noel Gruber thought the day of the Fall Fair would be just another boring day in his uneventful life, in his dull little town-until it wasn't. After a tragic accident on the Cyclone roller coaster claimed the lives of Noel and his choir friends, they found themselves in the presence of the amazing Karnak. Karnak brought Penny back to life, but it meant the others were destined to die.

They were sent back to the moment they boarded the Cyclone, forced to relive the accident that claimed their lives-this time, so that Penny alone can survive. From a distance, Penny watches as her friends, unaware of their grim fate, board the ride once again. But something is wrong: Noel remembers everything.
