Blind Cadet {Spock/Star Trek{18+}

James T Kirk has a cousin; a cousin named Kara Madden, who is a chubby twenty-three year old, who went through the most horrendous ordeal as a teenager.
Blinded by bear spray as a prank by bullies at prom while she was only eighteen; she became disabled, her only seeing blacks, dark grays, and only the color of people's eyes, as well as see auras of people, including see their aura's change color when humanoids express emotions.
Like James, her dream was to be in Starfleet; but sadly her disability can indeed cause her to be frowned upon by her superiors, however Admiral Pike put in a good word for her, and she made it into the academy with her cousin.
That's where things get tricky, when Spock enters her life.
