Shadows of the Changeling

Deep in the twisting shadows of the underhive, two Inquisitors embark on a mission to root out a deadly threat to the Imperium. Inquisitor Elara Valenhurst, a psyker and noblewoman with a sharp tongue and an aristocratic bearing, is paired with a most unconventional ally: Kel'Acthar, a beastman Inquisitor known for his fierce strength, unconventional methods, and sharp instincts honed to detect the taint of the Warp. Tasked with hunting down a Changeling-a shapeshifting agent of Chaos capable of infiltrating even the highest ranks-their partnership becomes a clash of values as they enter the grim heart of the hive.

As they delve deeper, their differences prove both a hindrance and a strength. Elara, raised to respect the purity of noble blood, struggles to conceal her disdain for Kel'Acthar's origins, while he remains indifferent to her airs, focused only on their mission. Kel'Acthar's unique ability to detect Warp taint through scent leads them through a maze of cult hideouts and heretical gatherings, and Elara's psychic powers allow them to root out the twisted agents of the Changeling's influence.

When a squad of Black Templars, driven by zealous suspicion, mistake them for heretics, Elara is forced to reveal their true identities after Kel'Acthar brings down one of the Templars in brutal hand-to-hand combat. The encounter leaves their reputations shaken, but their purpose intact.

Navigating hidden conspiracies and haunted by the Changeling's elusive scent, Elara and Kel'Acthar must learn to trust each other in a hostile world where every shadow conceals a new threat. Together, they face the corruption within the hive-and within themselves-to purge the heresy festering below the Imperium's surface.
