In this book Michael Clifford is just a average teenage boy (before his band became famous). Until one day he meets a very depressed girl named Hazel. Who has problems at home with her mom, and is also being bullied every day at school, she feels like she has no escape. Which leads her to self harm. One day at school Michael catches Hazel trying to cut herself so he calms her down. She only feels safe around him.
