"So, what you think of the new girl?" He asked, shoeing the bugs away from his brown locks.
I shrugged and rested my hands in my cargo khakis.
"I don't know.. Ok I guess, I haven't seen her.. Well- I mean I saw her unpacking with her parents you know? But not that I was staring-"
Marvel cut me short by sticking his hand in my face,
"What I'm trying to ask, is if she's cute?" He laughed as my cheeks became the same color of my hair- bright red.
I choose my words carefully with this boy, I know how he plays;
I say yeah, he tells her, I get humiliated, and never talk to her again, and when I see her around town it's all awkward and stuff.
I scratched he back of my head,
"Uh- I guess.. Yeah, she's decent I guess." I rolled my eyes.
He elbowed me, "Eh? You think I have a chance with her? How old is she?"
I pulled my fingers through my shaggy red curls and sighed.
"I dunno, 13? 14? 14 at the oldest, she's pretty short, though, so.." I guessed.
He smiled and glued a toothy grin to his face.
"Sweet! She's around our age!" He nudged me playfully.
"Hey, Clark, can I have her?!" He asked, jumping a little like a four year old at a candy shop.
I shrugged again,
"Sure, man. I don't know her so.."
He did a little fist pump in the air as we stopped by his house, right across from mine.
"Thanks, man!" He ran inside, waving me off.
I waved back a little, and walked home.
