@CLARISSEBLANC111 I have a plot that I made up a while ago, though I couldn't keep going on with it since I was winging it and it was only a concept with two confirmed characters. I also might not be able to explain the whole thing in one reply, but basically:
When you die by either suicide or sacrifice, you become 'grim spirit' which works for the grim reaper. Within first few days as a grim spirit, unnecessary senses like smell and taste fade away. A grim spirit also has a basic uniform, which is a black and purple cloak, with any accessory of their choosing that falls upon the purple and black palate. These are made by their mentors grimmicks (I'll explain those later) until they get their own grimmick. There are five ranks which go from, in lowest to highest:
Gatherer > Collector > Harvester > Reaper > Grim Reaper
A gatherer uses a basket to collect souls, which are comforted by small fairies/angels. When the basket is full, the gatherer will whistle, and a dove comes down to guide the fairies/angels to heaven. The reason why gatherers don't whistle sooner is because if they keep whistling their tongues would go numb and it would tire out the doves. It takes 50 baskets to become a collector, and each basket holds 15 souls.
A collector uses a pail/bucket to collect souls, which are comforted by angel fish. The same process as a gatherer occurs when the pail/bucket is full. When you become a collector, you get your own grimmick, which is a purple wisp that only the 'owner' of said grimmick can understand. To other grim spirits, the grimmick will sound like high pitched squeaking. grimmicks also have their own little personalities. When you're a collector, you're also able to become a mentor to new gatherers, and you normally only have one pupil per mentor, but you can have up to three. It takes 150 pails/buckets to become a harvester, and each pail/bucket holds 45 souls.
If you're interested, I'll write the rest in a second reply
