I don't get it either, it just removes the entire feeling of "I made this" from the work. I'd be shocked if they ever felt pride from it, because I don't know how they can associate the work as their own.

I guess some people are just generally surprised seeing what AI can do for the first time. I won't lie asking ChatGPT to make some short story was amusing first couple of times. BUT. Posting something like that and sincerely hoping that nobody would notice that it's not a human creation - that's just silly. I think almost anyone who read more than two AI-generated stories would recognize the patterns and style. So, yeah, I have no idea what the ones who post such "creations" are expecting.

@FlameOfEternity This. Plus. Isn’t it just straight up boring? It takes a minute to enter a prompt. There is no process. No enjoyment in it. You just click a button and it’s done. I get it when people are using AI to fact-check or “google” stuff, or whatever, but asking it to write for you? Bruh? ;w; It’s like asking AI to play video games for you. What’s the point then?
