Hello! It...has literally been years. And I apologize.
In the last two and a half years or so, I've still been writing, but the work on my works that I've posted here-new content to Shattered Mind, edits to Fractured Soul-has been few and far between. I did not end up participating in NaNo2020, like my last message said. There has been writing on and off during the last two and a half years, as well as two apartment moves and a lot of soul searching.
Moving during the pandemic was...a lot. Adjusting to a new city and a new job was a lot. And basically...things just slipped.
So why am I back now? Well, I want to get back into the swing of things. I have still been writing in the last two and a half years, but I want to devote more of my time to what got me writing in the first place. The stories I'd tell myself. The stories that looked at memory and magic. And April is the month of #CampNaNoWriMo2023 . 50,000 words is going to be ambitious. Especially because as things stand, at the end of day one, I have written maybe 500ish words. To be on track, I should consistently be writing about 1600ish words a day.
I know its going to be difficult, especially because the point I'm currently at in Shattered Mind is not a part of the story that lives rent free in my brain. Which means a lot of 'writing a little, saving a little, removing the rest off to the side and maybe I can use it later.' Not the most intuitive process, I know. But that's how I go.
So to those of you that have been following me and stuck around all these years, thank you. To those that have followed me in the interim, welcome. And let's see what progress I can make this month. Maybe we'll even see the end of a sequel that has been five years in the making.
I'll be doing my best to post weekly updates here so you all can see the progress, and depending where I get to, I hope to get more of the chapters I wrote in 2019 and new ones I'm writing now, posted to you, so Liz's story continues.
