Neptune is the eighth and outermost planet in our solar system.
It is four times wider than Earth,
Its atmosphere is made up of about 80% Hydrogen, 19% Helium and 1.5% Methane which gives it a distinct blue colour.
The planet has a faint ring system with five main rings, named Galle, Leverrier, Lassell, Arago and Adam's.
The average temperature on Neptune is around -214 degrees C, making it the coldest planet in the solar system.

It takes Neptune about 165 Earth Years to complete one orbit around The Sun.
A day on Neptune lasts for about 16 hours.
Neptune has an axial tilt of about 28 degrees, similar to Earth and Mars.
There are 14 known moons,
1- Triton is Neptune's largest moon and the only one in the solar system to orbit its planet in the opposite direction of the planet's rotation.

Many of Neptune's moons are named after Greek Sea Gods and Nymphs.

Neptune was discovered in 1846 by Johann Galle and Urbain Le Verrier after mathematicians noticed Uranus's orbit was being affected by the gravitational pull of another planet.
It is the only planet in our solar system that is not visible to the naked eye.
