Earl Chinnici is a memoirist, creator, and long‑time computer help desk operator whose work blends lived experience with practical clarity and a grounded respect for the reader. Born in Miami and raised in Lake City, Florida, Earl has spent much of his life helping people-whether through technology, creativity, or honest storytelling.
Earl's writing journey began in 2011, when a subtle suggestion from a friend led him to confront and gradually overcome a decades‑long addiction to tobacco cigarettes. As he worked through that change, he began writing what would become his first book, Maybe You Should Move Those Away From You - an intimate account of his quit‑smoking journey and the unexpected beginning of his life as a writer.
In 2004, he opened a local computer repair shop, and a few years later began assisting friends and clients through remote access. Seeing how much easier this made life for people, he launched EarlsHelpDesk.com in 2008. Today, he continues to operate a nationwide remote computer help desk, offering clear, patient support to customers across the United States.
Since then, Earl has continued to write, explore, and create. He has worked on both fiction and nonfiction, and has also pursued creative ventures through music, photography, programming, and digital art.
He is currently expanding into fiction, bringing the same honesty and emotional depth to the novels he's writing. Earl believes creativity is a form of connection, and that a single honest story-true or imagined-can help someone feel less alone.
