UPDATES:
For ONC2026, I've put in 4 options

The 0 draft for Hicks & Fairies (fairy/bestiary invasion of Louisiana, prompt 47& modded51) IS finished--got it done in 12 days, (which isn't my record). This is the only one I'm getting critiqued as I do it's basic edit for being coherent (long sentence breakdown/grammar), it will be posted as complete in March--as I get around to it.

That Witch Inherits:11 is 0 draft written to 20K+ but has no end in sight. I've GOT to find one before 40K, but can put this off until the 3rd month, as long as I put up my 8k. That's what happens when I fail to stick to an outline, like a lot of pantsers do.

As NPC: 86 is a gamer fantasy worldbuilding type story, it's really easy to get immersed into, and got it's 2K written and basic editing done in 3 days. I basically get to discover the world as I write it, along with a really basic outline. This will be 0 draft written this coming month and likely won't tick me off to keep it on track.

Robbing The Assassin's Cradle: 33 is set up to be Victorian-Adjacent Fantasy, which between that and Regencies is my childhood. Very easy to be immersive in worldbuilding, so it feels familiar and alien at the same time.

But Matchmaker bitten by the Main Character Syndrome is outside what I'm comfortable with writing:

Vampires haven't been as approachable--to me--as werewolves. I'd have to change way too much about how my mind translates them to write them sympathetically (although I've read good tries by others). Mine always wind up slipping into Succubus/Incubus vampire-adjacent spaces. And this prompt requires this monster to be deadly to mates.  It's just...not my thing to write dark things without a lot of concern over how that's going to be received? 

I do have a few good ideas that would work with that, just not with this kind of prompt. So, they are shelved, and so is this.
