I’m keeping an eye out for contests at the moment - any recommendations appreciated.
Just entered this:-https://www.wattpad.com/story/409466600-the-booker-awards-2026
Give @awardshoster a follow - it seems like a really well set up contest and hopefully I’ll get a few more folks reading Stakeholder Agreement!

I've just submitted 'Stakeholder Agreement' for Round 2 of ONC 2026.
Whooooop.
Huge thanks to both @cece_b and @nicolettesalle for their invaluable feedback and encouragement. I now know that they’re great at both reading *and* writing so if you haven't, please do check out their work.
Also huge props to @moon_fabler for setting up the ONC Book Lounge - https://www.wattpad.com/story/407506252-onc-book-lounge-2026
Even if I don't make it through to Round 3 - I hope to carry on being a part of this community lead support group!
Wish me luck, folks...

@edmundkeanlightning yaaaayyyy! Break a leg Edmund! No bother at all about the comments, I wish I had more time to be more specific. Your story is so funny and original, it's really worth it!

Writing two novellas for the ONC was *ambitious*. I've been neglecting my vampire story for too long and am knee deep in research ahead of what I'd like to be a busy writing weekend.
Some of my recent googles:-
'what materials can prevent things from being broken at the bottom of the ocean?'
'what part of the brain handles memory?'
'what would happen to the shark population if there was a catastrophic rise in sea level?' (spoiler alert, very bad news for sharks if the world continues to ignore climate change)
I've also followed Terry Prachett's advice and have clicked into a lot of relevant reading this week (away from the fantasty stuff I was reading for Stakeholder Agreement).
'So to writers I say, you're going to have to read a lot -- shitloads in fact. So many books that you're going to overflow.' [very cool interview https://www.writerswrite.com/journal/terry-pratchett-4001]
I've just started the first translation into English of the Arabian Nights by a woman - the Yasmine Seale. It's a gorgeous book published by Norton with hundreds of illustrations and it's a fascinating, feminist-positioned presentation of the stories.
Strong recommend by me: https://wwnorton.com/books/9781631493638
Anway, fingers crossed Chapter 2 of Race For The Prize will be out on Sunday.
Wish me luck!

@ElleZakria really pleased to hear the ONC committee noticed their mistake. I read your first chapter and thought it was really strong!

V pleased to have signed up to ONC Book Lounge - https://www.wattpad.com/story/407506252-onc-book-lounge-2026 Getting feedback from other Wattpad writers really helps and also doesn't feel like you're ploughing your field alone if, like me, you're new to this platform! Thanks to @NicoletteSalle for the feedback and @moon_fabler for setting this great thing up!

Hey folks,
I’m having an existential moment with Stakeholder Agreement ahead of the next ONC deadline.
If anyone gets a moment to read it and send over some honest feedback - I’d really appreciate it.
I’d love to know how invested everyone is in Annod and Dref - have I got the stakes right and do we need to know more about them? Or is it good to get dunked into the action from the top and to let these things drip through?
Even a couple of thoughts would make a big difference!

Wow Edmund! I knew that you were going to change your mind and write something eventually! I can't wait to explore your universe in writing -- excited!
