Shit. What do I say now? "Umm-" I was cut off by the doorbell. Skyler squealed excitedly and ran upstairs leaving me to let out a huge sigh of relief. That was close. Too close. A group of girls from school came downstairs chatting away about each other's outfits. I greeted them with a smile and just stood back while they gossiped about who was coming, shoes, makeup and boys. I wasn't really interested in their conversation.

Gradually more and more people arrived and Skyler disappeared off to greet all her guests. Still no sign of Stereo Kicks yet but they were all people were talking about. Two of my friends from school - Arushika and Ellis - came up to me, smiling.

"Hey guys, you enjoying the party?" I asked.

"Yeah loving it," replied Arushika "Is it true Stereo Kicks are coming?"

"Yeah it is. They should be here soon." Arushika nodded. Ok, awkward silence. Think of something else to say Emilie. "Wow, Ellis I love your dress," I gushed, gazing at her beautiful blue cocktail dress.

"Aw thanks, Em. Your outfit is stunning too. Like so pretty."

I carried on talking to Arushika and Ellis for about half an hour. I could see Skyler buzzing around like a frantic bee trying to talk to all her guests. Eventually Skyler came over to talk to me and the other girls went off to dance with their friends.

"You enjoying the party?" she yelled over the music.

"Yeah it's great. Everyone seems to love it. You did good, Webb." I replied, smiling.

"Stereo Kicks should be here any minute now," she said with a wink. I rolled my eyes making her laugh. "Oh you never said earlier...why can't you let anything happen? Why can't you be in a relationship?"

Oh god. What do I say? There's no avoiding it now. Make something up Emilie. Make something up now. Think. Shit, why can I never think under pressure?

"You know...just lots of school work and stuff."

I could tell by her facial expressions she wasn't buying it. I waited for her to ask me to tell her the truth and to stop lying. But just before she opened her mouth we heard an excited scream from the other side of the room.

"They're here!" someone squealed. Skyler bounced off, all of our previous conversation instantly forgotten. I watched her as she skipped up to 8 boys on the other side of the room. I could barely see them through the crowd of people surrounding them but I saw Skyler lead them to wherever they would be performing. I smiled to myself as I watched Skyler twirling her hair round her finger, clearly flirting with Reece. She's always been such a flirt and guys loved her. She has always had to bat boys away with a stick. The absolute opposite to me. Skyler turned her attention back to the rest of the boys, and they all nodded and started walking into the crowd of the party. They must be socialising and relaxing before being made to perform. I noticed Ellis and Arushika walk up to the oldest one, Tom I think, and start chatting to him with massive grins across their faces.

I saw Skyler approach Charlie and point in my direction and I instantly knew what was going to happen next. They both made their way through the crowd and I got more and more anxious as they neared me. Finally they reached me and Skyler said loudly over the music, "Charlie, this is Emilie."

Charlie looked up and as his beautiful crystal blue eyes locked with mine it felt as though everyone else in the room just disappeared. It felt as if we were the only people in the world. Just me and him. And it just felt right.

A/N - Sorry for the short chapter. Photo above is of course, Charlie because he is so freaking perfect!! Also just to let you know, the next chapter will be in Charlie's perspective and then it will alternate between him and Emile. I hope you're enjoying the story.

Stay awesome,
