"Clay, this is the third school you've been kicked out of. What do you do?" Bad says while Clay is sitting down getting grilled.

He looks away as to not answer, then Nick cuts in "Shut the fuck up Bad! Your such a goody-good." And he earns a "Language" from Bad.

---

To be honest even Clay didn't know how he kept getting kicked out either.

Sure he got into a few fights, skipped sometimes, but what was the big deal?

It was his mental health.

Clay always struggled with being happy and with his anxiety. He would have to skip class to see a therapist, or because he had an anxiety attack.

And his at-home life growing up wasn't good either.

But when trying to explain this to teachers, they thought he was making stuff up and talking back. Numerous principal visits and the teachers figuring out the best option is to be kick Clay out of school, all of which making another mark on his file.

All Clay wanted to do was get a simple music degree. It would help him feel accomplished, to feel good about himself. But all his teachers were all the same.

---

"You want to know the truth?" Clay asked in all honesty, Bad and Nick nodded, Nick more violently than Bad.

Wow, Clay thought, Bad and Nick really think I did something bad.

He proceeded to explain the the two about his mental health, Nick bummed that he didn't kill someone or do something else fucked up like that.

---

Clay waited nervously outside of the office waiting to be called in. This was the sixth school who had offered to look at his application.

Most schools after looking at his record either didn't ever give him a reply or rejected him. But this school, this school felt different to Clay.

He felt more at peace. This was the final school he was going to try, if he got another rejection he would quit trying. It was to hard trying to watch himself fail over and over again.

All the boy wanted was to be accepted. He wanted to get a degree, maybe find love, play in his band, just live a more normal life than it is now.

"Clay? Mr. Soot would like to see you in his office." The secretary says as Clay gets up.

Clay walks into the office and sits down into a chair, he was greeted with a warm-smiled, and a tall man with curly brown hair kept in a beanie.

"Hello, Clay." He says and it takes Clay by surprise with his thick british accent.

"Hi, uh, Mr. Soot." Clay says hoping this would be the one. The british man looks through his paperwork and back up to meet Clay's glowing green eyes.

"Kicked out of three schools?"

"Yeah, will you listen to my reason?"

"Of course I will."

As Clay explains to the man, he seems to understand. Finally, a person who will listen to my explanation.

After Clay explains himself the man types something into his computer. Probably my file, Clay thinks.

"Alright Clay, I think we've concluded this meeting. You have my word for it when I say this is your new school." Mr. Soot says as Clay grows a smile.

"And hey, I totally understand about a tough childhood. Let me print out your schedule, you start Monday. Have a nice weekend!"

---

As Clay makes it back to his car he is all smiles. He can't wait to tell Bad and Nick, Tommy and Toby, to see the smiles on their faces when Clay tells them how he thinks this is the school.

As soon as Clay gets into his car he facetimes the group. Everyone in the group had answered.

"Guys, guess what? I FINALLY got into a school. I think it's the one!"

Bad is the first one to talk "Congrats muffin head, you made me proud. And I haven't seen you smile is so long."

That comment had taken Clay in surprise as he realized Bad was right, he hadn't smiled in so long

The weekend went as typical, Clay gathered his stuff together for his first day.

Should I bring my guitar? No, that's just weird. Clay thinks to himself, then quickly remembering something Mr. Soot had said "You can practice music in the music room during free periods if you'd like." Nevermind, I will bring it.

After getting his school supplies and a lunch ready for tomorrow, Clay had decided to go to bed earlier to get a good night's sleep for his early day tomorrow.
