Chapter 2

"How was your day Naira?" Gayu asked as she saw Naira enter.

"It was good di, I am too tired!" Naira replied and sat on the couch.

"Naira, come down for lunch!" Akshara called her.

"Coming mamma!" She replied and got up.

"Naira, me and maami are going for shopping, don't you have to buy your lehenga for the engagement?" Gayu asked.

"The black one is nice!" Kartik said.

"Where did Kartik go?" She looked around.

"You are looking for me haan!" Kartik scared her from behind.

"Kartik! I wasn't looking for you." Naira said turning away.

"Accha ji? Then who is that Kartik you were looking for?" Kartik folded his arms in front of him.

"Whoever it is, why do you care? Now go from here!" Naira said.

"Destiny will help us cross each other's paths again, bye, meet you soon sherni!" Kartik said smiling and went from there.

"Kitni tar tar karte ho Kartik! But haan, his choice isn't bad, I will take this black one for bhai's engagement." Naira thought and picked the dress that Kartik had chosen.

"Naira, did you find anything?" Gayu asked.

"Yes gayu di, see this dress! I love it." She said and showed the black one.

"This is beautiful, let's go now!" Gayu said and they both went to Akshara.

"Mamma Keerti bhabi!" Naira pointed towards Keerti and Suvarna.

"Kartik? He came here also!" Naira thought as she saw Kartik standing behind Keerti.

"Mamma, you go, I will come after some time!" Naira said.

"Nothing mamma, I will see that dress and come." Naira went towards a different section.

"Naira listen, get my bag from the car please, I forgot it there!" Akshara said.

"Okay mamma!" Naira went down.

"Excuse me sir, is that white car yours? It is parked in no parking, please part it somewhere else?" The mall's staff said Kartik.

"Okay, I will do it!" He came down.

Naira was in a hurry, she went towards the other side of the road, soon a car came in full speed towards Naira.

"Naira!" Kartik screamed and pulled her back. She hugged Kartik in fear, and closed her eyes tightly, and tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Shh! Calm down, Naira you are fine!" Kartik said as he carressed her hair and she looked up to him.

"I am sorry sir, I will be careful next time!" The driver said as he parked the car and came.

"Next time you better be careful, if something would have happened to her? Drive safely next time!" Kartik said angrily, and Naira looked at him, and saw he was concerned for her.

"Naira, you are okay, nothing happened, you are safe!" Kartik said.

"Thank you!" Naira said as she looked at him.

"Please be careful next time, if something would have happened to you?" Kartik said.

"I am sorry!"

"It's okay, please take care next time! Now wait here, I will go to the car, you stand here okay?" Kartik said and she nodded.

Naira looked at him all this while and smiled as she understood he was concerned for her.

"Thank you bhagwaan ji for sending Kartik here, or I don't know what would have happened now!" Naira said.

"Let's go back! Do you want me to drop you home?" Kartik asked.

"My mamma and di, are there in the mall, I will go home with them, thank you!" Naira said softly and he nodded.
