FEW DAYS LATER (JUNGKOOK's POV)

"I'm here to see Kim Taehyung." I said through the intercom as I arrived to the big metal gate that were guarding prison.
After a few seconds I heard beep sound and the gate started opening, revealing an impersonal and cold scenery ahead of me.
Once I got inside the large building and had my ID checked, a prison officer escorted me to the room where I was supposed to meet my brother.
"Wait here." the officer said as I sat down at the table with the protective glass that was separating me from the other side of the table.
After a few minutes of waiting, I heard the sound of the door opening and as I looked up to see Taehyung enter the room, my body froze in place.
He sat down at the other side of the table with his hands in handcuffs and his head bent down in a complete silence.
"Y-Your h-hair?" I said with shaky lips while looking at his hair that turned completely grey.
But he said nothing and remained silent, making me nervously play with my fingers as I tried to think of ways to break this painful stillness.
"Your hands... did they heal?" I asked but once again received no response from him.
"H-How... h-how is she?" he asked after a few minutes, his head still bent down.
"She still hasn't woken up." I sighed heavily.
"I'm sorry... for everything..." he said as he finally looked up at me with tears falling down his cheeks.
He was as pale as a ghost, his facial bones showing more than before, meaning he has lost a lot of weight.
His eyes were red and swollen, and the bags under his eyes were coloured in the darkest shade of purple.
The look he had on his face seemed so weak and desperate, showing no other emotions than sorrow and agony.
My heart ached at such sight of him and my eyes filled with tears as my mind desperately tried to make this seem like it was nothing more than a bad dream.
"I took away my own happiness... the only reason I had to keep on living... I took it away with my own hands..." Taehyung said through tears which now looked so big and heavy on his thin face.
"I miss her so much..." he uttered while I was just sitting there in complete silence, unable to find words of comfort for his current state.

It was then when I realised that nothing vast enters one's life without a curse.
Money... power... what's the point of it if it was built by the blood of others? What's the point of people fearing you just because you will not hesitate to use violence as a way of showing your power?
It was then when I realised how wrong my morals were and how fucked up this kind of life was.
Love... never thought love would be our curse... one thing that completely destroyed us.
Now I finally understand people who say that we should never take love for granted; for love that seems like the simplest of all things in this world... when it's the one that holds the most power.
To live without love... is to live a meaningless life.

XXXXXX's POV

"You're visiting her quite often these days." the nurse chuckled as she walked into the room.
"Don't worry, I won't stay here for too long. I just came to change her infusion bottle." she added.
"She happens to be my childhood friend." I sighed while gently caressing Y/N's hand.
"Oh... I'm sorry you've met her in such circumstances after such a long time."
"Yeah, I feel sorry too..."
"Just give her some time, I'm sure she'll come back."
"I wonder if she'll remember me when she wakes up."
"Well, what memories do you have of her?"
"She was my first love."
