NEXT MORNING
"Good morning beautiful." Taehyung whispered as I slowly began to open my eyes.
"What time is it?" I murmured.
"8.30." he chuckled while I was trying to wake myself up as the tiredness caused by activities from last night got the best of me.
"I'm already late for work." I sighed as closed themselves again, desperate to get some more rest.
"You don't look like it worries you too much though." Taehyung chuckled.
"It's your fault." I mumbled and playfully hit his bare chest.
"For what?" he asked in a teasing tone, obviously amused by the state he got me in.
"You know damn well for what Mister Kim Taehyung." I whined.
"You'll find I can be very... persuasive." he smirked.
"What will I say to my boss?"
"I'm certain you're not the type to be running late that often so I'm sure he won't mind you coming a bit later today." he chuckled as I brought my body closer to his and wrapped my hands around his neck.
"If he scolds me or fires me you'll have to take full responsibility." I said sternly.
"I wouldn't mind him firing you though. That way you would be with me all the time." he chuckled and kissed me on my lips.
"That surely would be an interesting scenario." I said as we broke the kiss, making both of us laugh.
"Someone looks tired." Jungkook chuckled as he saw Taehyung and me walking into the dining room.
"I told James to count you in for breakfast as well." he added.
"Thanks, I'm starving!" I said as I sat down at the table.
"You might as well just move in, it would be far more convenient for Taehyung." Jungkook teased.
"I'd probably run late to work every morning because of him so no thanks." I rolled my eyes, making Taehyung smirk to himself.
"So birthday guy, will there be a party this year as usual?" Jungkook asked as he turned to Taehyung.
"No. I'll celebrate it with Y/N alone."
"I'm kinda offended that I'm not invited too but then again I'm not surprised, Y/N is surely a better company than an annoying little brother." Jungkook chuckled.
"She's the best company I could've wished for." Taehyung said as he took my hand in his and looked into my eyes.
"Running late to work are we Y/N? What's gotten into you these days?" Namjoon chuckled teasingly.
"I had a busy nig- um morning! Yeah, busy morning hah!" I sighed.
"Well, I did some digging into Lee Chiwon's everyday life and found out he was close with a girl named Ahn Daeun. Of course, I did a background check and it turned out that she works at the strip club." Namjoon said.
"Do we have the location?" I asked.
"I wrote it down on a piece of paper."
"Great! We'll go there straight away!"
"You think they're gonna let us in if they're closed? I don't think strip clubs work in broad daylight."
"They have to. We're in the middle of a criminal investigation and Ahn Daeun could give us some clues."
Upon our arrival to the club, we showed our badges to the club manager and asked if we could have a word with Ahn Daeun.
"Why am I here?" the girl asked with a slightly annoyed tone in her voice.
"We're sorry to annoy you, but we have a few questions for you." Namjoon said.
"You seem very young Miss Ahn." I spoke as Namjoon and I sat down at the table with the girl.
"I'm 20. Why? Does that bother you?" she scoffed.
"Of course not. After all, my colleague and I are here to ask you a few questions about Lee Chiwon. Does that name sound familiar to you?"
"Yeah, he was my regular. I haven't seen him for weeks though."
"That's because he was murdered."
"He was what?!" her eyes widened in shock.
"Did you know that he was in gun dealing business?"
"I didn't. All I knew is that he had a hella lot of money. I earned more from him alone than I did from all my customers combined together."
"Did you know how old he was?"
"I knew that he was older based on his appearance. Age doesn't matter to me as long as I can pay my bills." she chuckled.
"Was he more than a customer to you?"
"I thought we had something between us at first, but then he suddenly stopped coming. I don't know if he found himself another girl or something, but I didn't want to chase him because he left without saying anything."
"Did he ever mention anything business-related during your... meetings?"
"Nothing specific. He did mention Dark Wolf or something like that during his phone calls.... Now that I think about it, the last time he came here he seemed very stressed and...scared."
"Scared?" Namjoon and I asked surprised as the girl nodded.
"He's gotten himself pretty drunk that night. He was constantly saying something about how he and his friend had done something terrible to Dark Wolf."
"Did he mention the name of his friend?"
"Hold on, let me think... Oh yeah, I think his name was Park Sunghoo."
"This is it Y/N." Namjoon said as we both looked at each other.
"Thank you so much for your cooperation Miss Daeun, you gave us some very useful information." I said as we all got up from the table.
"No problem. By the way, don't be shy to stop by sometimes. I have a very special treatment for hot officers like yourself." she said in a seductive tone and winked at Namjoon.
"We've found out some major things today! Dark Wolf is the boss, Chiwon and Sunghoo had gotten on his bad side and paid a heavy price for that. We're getting closer to him Namjoon, I can feel it!" I said as we got inside the car.
"The question is, what exactly did they do to get themselves killed?" Namjoon said confused.
"That's what we need to find out next."
"But how are we gonna do that? We know that the Dark Wolf is the boss but we have no connection with him whatsoever."
"We're gonna find a way Namjoon. We always do."
"As long as that way doesn't include us joining the mafia in order to find out about Dark Wolf's secrets." Namjoon chuckled.
