5 YEARS LATER

"Mommy can we go visit uncle Yoongi?" my daughter of 5 years asked me excitedly as she ran into the living room.
"Of course sweetie." I nodded smiling as I caressed her cheek.
"Daddy will you come too?" she then turned to Hoseok who was sitting next to me.
"Sure!" he said, making the excitement in our daughter's eyes grow even bigger.
After all three of us got dressed in some proper clothes, we got inside Hoseok's car and headed to the graveyard.
"Come on daddy! Walk faster!" our daughter pouted while tugging on Hoseok's hand, making both Hoseok and me laugh as we tried to catch up with her little excited steps.
"Ah!" she giggled happily as we finally reached Yoongi's grave and quickly took off her backpack to take out things she wanted to bring this time.
"Let's pray first okay?" Hoseok said to our daughter as he put down the flowers and lit up the candle.
"Hi uncle Yoongi!" she spoke after a few minutes of silence.
"I have some drawings to show you!" she said as she laid out a few papers in front of the grave.
"Mommy told me you liked to play the piano so I drew you one! When I grow up, I will learn to play the piano just like you uncle!"
"I also drew my family for you! This is daddy and this mommy... my brother is in mommy's belly, so that's why mommy's belly looks like a ball" she laughed, "I'll leave this drawing here so you can always think of us! I promise I'll bring my brother here when he comes out of mommy's belly!"
"Did you tell uncle how are we going to name your baby brother?" Hoseok asked her as he wrapped his arm around my waist and brought me closer to him.
"His name will be Yoongi! Just like you uncle!" she smiled, making a few small tears run down my cheeks.
"I'm sure he's happy to hear that." Hoseok said in a warm tone as he wiped away the tears from my cheeks and planted a soft kiss on my lips, whispering a soft "I love you" before we left to return back home.

Author's note

First of all, I'd like to thank each and every one of you for reading this story, I really hope you enjoyed it.
Though I do not consider it a well-written story (I believe there's always room for improvement), I definitely think it's the most complex story I have written so far as it is focused on characters and their personality change throughout the story.
For that reason, I'd like to give some explanation as to why certain things in story happened the way they did, in case some things remained unexplained (though I very much hope they didn't but that depends on every individual and how they understood this story).
Y/N has a very strong character - a person who never knew their mother, was separated from their childhood best friend and lost their brother who was their greatest support in life and because of those loses, they almost ended up loosing themselves.
Fortunately, in the darkness that seemed never to end, they found their light - a dream, something they could hold onto.
After years of searching for themselves, they finally found a purpose in their life and became an independent person with high morals whose beliefs, for which they stood for, couldn't be changed nor influenced that easily.
Everything changed when Y/N met Taehyung, whose mysterious and intimidating aura drew them to him in an instant. Both of them felt something like never before for each other and even though they did fall in love rather quickly, their bond was true and strong.
Taehyung is a tragic character, the one you can't help but feel sorry for, regardless of all the things he did. He had a traumatic childhood because of his father who mistreated him till his very end. His mother did show him love but never the type of one that he felt with Y/N. Because his father left him with heavy wounds, Taehyung did try to heal them, but not in the right way. Because he was still very young when his parents died in car explosion, he didn't have anyone who could guide him, give him comfort and show him the right way. His past mistakes had been haunting him for years but it got even worse when he realised that Yoongi was Y/N's brother. Because he didn't want to loose Y/N, he tried to keep the truth away from them for as long as possible. Living in such a lie was eating him alive and he was, unconsciously, taking Y/N with himself into that pool of lies. Y/N did not realise it themselves in the beginning, how much they'd changed but their act of quitting their job was the final realisation and acceptance of new version of themselves. Because all truth comes to light, so did the truth about Yoongi's murder. There is saying about truth, how it's rarely pure and simple. Taehyung knew that once Y/N finds out the truth, his life will come to its end because they'll hate him so much and he knew that he wouldn't be able to live such life.
And in the end, everything played out as it should. Y/N, who couldn't bare to live in Seoul anymore after everything that happened, moved back to her hometown with Hoseok who they fell in love with again. It took some time, considering everything that Y/N went through but Hoseok was their light at the end of all things, the one who showed them the way to salvation.
Why is the story called Once in a Lifetime? Simply because I believe that everything happens for a reason and every moment that happens in our lifetime leads us to that one time when we look back at everything that made us who we are.
