"Hi! My name is Cindy Park! I'm from Seattle, Washington!" I introduced myself in front of the class. "Please take care of me."
The entire class was eerily quiet. I saw a few students raise their eyebrows in interest. Most made quick snide remarks. My teacher, Mr. Shin, patted my shoulder, clearing his throat. "Very nice, Ms. Park. You may take your seat." He gestured at me to report back to my seat with his hand.
I headed back to my desk feeling a bit uneasy. Something about this class specifically did not feel right. I felt like everyone's hateful eyes were on me.
After the first period wrapped up, three students (2 female and one male) approached my desk. The girl in the middle had curly hair and bangs in a nice sandy brown shade placed both of her hands on my desk. The other girl had orange hair with hot pink streaks. She opened a pink and white lollipop and placed it in her mouth. Both could look like the Siamese cats from Lady and The Tramp.
The male student was good-looking and his hair was shaved off on his right side but his hair was in a man bun. Big double lid light brown eyes and thin lips.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" The girl with bangs asked. I glanced at her name tag. Min Sun hi.
"What's up?" I folded my arms across my chest, leaning back in my chair.
"Have you ever done drugs?" Sunhi asked. Her friends snickered behind her.
I knitted my eyebrows. "What? No?"
"Are you sure? I thought most Americans did some very hard drugs. Since you know, anyone can come in and smuggle drugs into the country." Sunhi scoffed, brushing her hair over her shoulder.
"What the fuck?! No! What kind of dumb stereotype are you saying!" I said, annoyed.
"Sorry. Everyone's been asking. Right everyone?" Sunhi turned to her classmates with a smirk. Most of them nodded and smiled evilly just like her.
My body immediately went into defense mode. This was the same situation I've been stuck in at Elk Valley High. There was always a bitch ringleader like Sandy.
"Yah, what are you? Have you been with us since first year?" The orange-haired girl scoffed as she touched my hair. Her name was Hu Junghwa.
