Day Out

I follow Clint and Natasha back to the gym. When we get there Nat opens the door for us and I walk in. It hasn't changed since yesterday but it's still so big it's shocking. I walk over to the mat we sparred on the other day.

"What are we doing today?" I ask and they walk up to me. "Would you like to spar with me?" Nat asks. "Sure why not." I smile and she walks onto the mat. She turns to clint and he sighs. "Well how was I supposed to know the kid's got guts of steel!" Then he mutters under his breath, "he's probably just cocky because he won yesterday and thinks he's gonna win today..." I can't help the snort that slips out and I turn to Nat. "Same rules as yesterday. Anything goes." I nod. Clint counts down, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!" Nat tries the same move I tried on clint yesterday but I dodge and swipe at her legs with my feet. She probably predicted that because she goes to grab my foot mid-swing but I was prepared for that. I change my movement and flipping up over her and wrapping my legs around her neck yanking us to the ground. She goes to yank free but I knew she would try that move that's why I calculated the angle of which we would land so that her arms would be inaccessible.

Clint counts to three and I let go getting up and holding my hand out to her as well. "Wow your so good! No wonder Clint's afraid of you!" I say as she takes my hand. I hear Clint yell hey, but it brings a smile to her face and that's all that matters. "Thanks for sparring with me it truly is an honor! You're so awesome and such a badass I love how strong willed you are and I've looked up to you for a long time!" She smiles and rubs my head. "You're cool kid. But first we have to address the issue of what just happened. How did you do that flip thing! It was so fast I didn't see it coming. How did you learn all that?" I nervously chuckle. Shit they're onto me.

I look around. "I don't really know sorry." I shrug and hope they don't push for more. Nat looks at me with suspicion clearly written on her face. I gulp and hope that she isn't reading my soul, or my mind. She's scary enough I wouldn't be surprised if she could read minds. Clint seems to be oblivious to the fact that I am being non-verbally interrogated.

Clint comes up to me and slaps me on the back. "Good job kid!" I smile and laugh, only feeling slightly awkward. Eventually Nat let's it go and congratulates me as well. "You may be fast but I think we should teach you more things. We want you to stay safe and things can get pretty dangerous if you're living with the Avengers. So we're going to work on what you know. What have you had for formal classes?" Nat explains. I rub my neck and look down at the ground. What should I say?! I should just tell the truth, right? "I, uh, don't have any formal training?" She looks at me and then at clint and they both laugh. "Ah good one Pete!" Clint shouts. "Yeah that was funny!" When they calm down they look at my face and realize, "Oh my God, your telling the truth aren't you! Wow, without any training you managed to beat us both?!"

I feel like I'm in trouble. They're going to know something's up. "Luck? Hehe?" I'm just incriminating myself even more. Natasha stares at me for a moment. But almost as if he could sense the tension Tony comes through the door. "Hey guys you mind if I join you!" I smile. "Not at all!" It's so strange to me. None of this really feels real. "Tony you should spar with the kid." Nat says. Omfg, she's definitely on to me. "Nah I wouldn't want to hurt the boy." She smirks. "Don't be so sure old man." He laughs. "Okay, bring it on kid! Let see if you can use that science brain of yours for anything else." He stands on the mat in a flimsy position. His posture is all wrong and I can easily take him out by hitting his weak points.

I step into the mat. Clint walks over to the side and counts down. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Go!" I have him down almost immediately after three good whacks to his weak points. "Ugh! I'm too old for this!" He's laying on the ground and I hold my hand out for him. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hit so hard are you okay Mr. Stark?" I help him up and he laughs. He tries to make a sneak attack and tries to trip me but I dodge and by reflex I swipe his feet out from under him. "I'm so sorry it was reflex I swear!" He holds his hand up as he lays on the ground. "No, No. I deserved that kid."
