***Lessgetit.ONE: MIDDLE FINGERS UP
«why blow up my spot 'cuz we both got hot? »"Snow, snow!" Thandie screamed, watching Snow's 13-year-old body collide with a chain-liked fence, thudding hard to the ground, her face kissing concrete upon impact.
Deuce's voice sounded like thunder as he bellowed, coming head-on at Thandie, "Stupid bitches tryna steal from me?!"
Even with her ears ringing, and head pounding, Snow found enough strength to get up and grab a chipped brick that was wedged under the broken fence.
Using her adrenaline and fear as momentum she took the brick, swinging her arm until she felt the weight of it colliding to Deuce's head.
A staggered step forward as he dropped to his knees, she swung the brick again, bringing him down to the ground. She was prepared to do it again, pulling her arm back when Thandie yelled, grabbing a hold of her wrist. "Snow, snow, no!"
She'd dropped the brick, feeling the blood from her broken nail trickling down her arm, to her elbow as Thandie stood behind her; one arm gripping her shirt, the other holding her wrist.
Both of them aware of what had happened, but that it also happened so fast, Thandie kept repeating her name, asking her what she had done as if it wasn't already obvious.
Snow was known for a lot of things, had done a lot, but adding murderer onto her list had never been foreseeable up until that moment.
"Shittin' me, Snow...Snow..."
"Snowden!" Her mom had been calling her for a second, but she was slumped over in the passenger side her brain reliving the incident, but at the feel of her mom slapping her thigh she came falling back to reality. "We here."
Opening one eye Snow looked out of the dashboard window seeing the same-looking red brick buildings all around them with a continuous metal black fence surrounding the entire perimeter as if it was closing them in. Each brick building had its own little parking lot filled with hoopties and pintos.
At that, she knew where she was.
Snow pulled her knees to her stomach, taking them off the dashboard before opening the door to step out, forgetting about the white forces on her feet until she stepped in the dirty slush that was supposed to be snow. "Fuck me..."
It was ice cold, a painful cold she had never experienced before that her reaching in the back of the coupe to grab the black puffer jacket. Ripping off the tag she swung it around her shoulders, feeling her mom's eyes on her as she shoved her arms through, her teeth chattering as she hurriedly zipped it up to her chin.
