So in my humble opinion after spending a couple of weeks with someone, and i mean heavily, it's obvious you like them/might care for them. some feelings will start to get involved easily especially if you're intimate with the person.
and a lot of the times in fanfiction us writers-me included-feel we have to have this long drawn out chase between michael and our main girls when in real life if you know a person likes you and you like them back it can be a little difficult to get on the same page but it don't take forever or in a story sense 14 chapters for them to finally admit to some feelings (*cough cough* zaria *cough cough*)
with that being said i know this is only chapter five but i'm tryna keep it realistic to how it's been for me/people around me. also i don't plan on this book being that long once we really get into the plot.
BBB, enjoy ✨
FIVE: PLAY NO GAMES
« I ain't like them other niggas. And I ain't bout to play no games with you. You know what your problem is? You don't ever see the big picture, I want you to take me serious Baby, I want you to take me serious »~ A Couple Weeks Later ~
Michael was playing games that Snow didn't have time for.
She realized that no matter how old the nigga they were all the same; emotionally stinted and unclear of what they wanted.
Honestly, she didn't understand what was up.
"It ain't like I'm confessing my love to the nigga, Ma" she said on the phone, to her mother Jae.
It'd been a while since they'd spoken more being that Jae worked second shift and there was a three-hour time difference between California and Ohio. Not that Snow wasn't awake at two AM to catch her mother's call, but sometimes Jae was just too tired to uphold a conversation longer than I miss you and I love you.
"I sent you down there to get right, not fall in love." Jae replied, the sound of running water in the background, as she took a long pause. Then she asked, "but how cute is he though?"
"Like... Malcom X Denzel Washington fine-"
"Oooh-" Jae chuckled, "that cute, huh?"
"Yeah," Snow reminisced for a second, but quickly caught herself before she slipped and told her mama the wrong thing.
During her time in extended juvie Snow's relationship with her mother grew into something that most people didn't understand, but something that worked for her and Jae. Snow knew the boundaries she couldn't cross when it came to her mother, but her mother had also made her comfortable enough to be a friend while also being her parent.
Friend or not, however, slipping up and telling your mother that you were having casual sex with a man you met just a few weeks ago would be a bad idea.
