     it's finally that time of the year. christmas. a day where everybody feels and appreciates the joy to be around each others presence. and the joy of gifts too. which is part of your problem right now. you're thinking, gosh, what am i going to get eren this year? eren has always went all out with his presents for you, but somehow you felt like you were never able to do the same. last year he got you a beautiful necklace with his initials on it. you wear it everyday! but the thing is, you got him a box of stuffed animals. yes, stuffed. animals. i know you were on a budget, but really? a box of stuffed animals? that's why you decided to go all out this year on his present.

     "hmm, what to get him.." i browse through the aisle. "chocolates? nah, too cheap." you began, "ooh, maybe a sweatshirt? no, thats boring. everybody gets clothes on christmas.." i sigh and then make my way to the exit. a couple steps away from the door, my eyes widen as i look out the window. a jewelry place! i yelled in my head as i dashed my way across the street.

     the bells ring indicating that i have entered the store. "hello miss, how may i provide you help today?" the worker smiles at me. i give her a nervous smile before i say, "h-hello uhm.." i scratch the back of my neck. "do you have any.. uhm.. couple-ly things here?" i look up at her, trying my best to keep eye contact. "why yes we do have couple-ly things here. come closer and take a look." i walk over to the front desk and she starts pointing at the varieties of jewelry. "see here, we have special rings with a jeweled heart in the middle. a lot of couples have bought this either for marriage or for anniversaries. it's cute as a promise ring as well." she looks up and smiles at me, a closed eye smile at that. she then moves her finger to point at a necklace. the necklace is a beautiful gold chain along with a charm with the wings of freedom. "i see a lot of scout couples buy this for each other. i think it's sweet in a way. the meaning of it being that no matter what happens outside the walls, you'll always have your significant other with you." my heart basically melts at this. "we also have these in bracelets as well. i see that you already have a necklace on, so maybe you'd like the bracelet option better." she points at another one. "these are earrings. as you can see, one earring has a K on it, and the other has a S. these are custom made earrings made specially designed for your satisfaction." i put my hand on my chin, making a "hmm." noise. "so, miss, what will it be?"

     "okay, who's opening their presents first-" "OOH ME ME!" connie and sasha both say at the same time. her glare at each other, shooting lasers through both of their souls. "i think mikasa should go. open the one with the white wrapping first though." jeans says, slightly smirking. before she could reply back, connie and sasha were already ripping open their presents. "OOOH MEAT!" "A BACK SCRATCHER!" "ehem." i cough out. they both quiet down and mumble a quiet "sorry.". "okay, jean you're next."

     everybody has opened their presents except for eren. he got me a beautiful strawberry dress. (lets pretend this existed in the aot days LMAO) the price for these are crazy! "you didn't have to get me this, haha!" i let out a nervous laugh at the end. "no, it's all fine. all my love goes to you." he smiles. i can feel my cheeks heating up as i look away. "ooh, a sweater, thanks mikasa!" "really jean? a lump of coal?" "cool! a book about the outside world. thanks so much armin!" sasha and connie stiffle a laugh as they await for eren to open their present. he looks at them suspiciously before taking out a piece of paper that had the words, "freedom" written on it. "freedom?" eren asks. "PFFT AHAHAHAHA!" jean, sasha, and connie all hold their stomachs. i look away, letting out a tiny laugh before turning back foward. okay, he's about to open my present... he rips open the wrapping paper and takes out the unknown box. "huh..." he says out loud. he then opens the box, only for his eyes to widen. "b-babe.. what is this?" he looks at me, showing the biggest smile i have ever seen. i walk over to him and then say, "it's a bracelet. a couple bracelet." i roll up my sleeve to reveal my matching pair. "it means, no matter what happens to one of us outside the walls, we'll always be with each other. no matter how far we are." i hold his hand. "GAH!" i scream out as eren had tackled me down the couch in a bone crushing hug. "i love you i love you i love you i love you i love you so much!" he then kisses me all over my face, making me giggle in happiness. "awe" i hear armin and mikasa say. "BLEUGH!" jean, sasha, and connie stick their tongues out in disgust. "i'm glad you like it." i smile while getting back up. i watch him put the bracelet on as i think of what to say next. "i noticed i haven't been giving you the best presents this year, so i decided to give it all i got this year to give you the best present you could ever get!" his hand holds mine before he says, "hey, i loved all of your presents. as long as it's from you, i'll always enjoy it. being with you could be the best present i could've ever recieved in my life. and i'm so grateful for you." he takes his other free hand to wipe the tears streaming down my face. "this present is amazing and all, and i love it so much but... just know that

you're wonderful."
