Chapter 5

I'm constantly shaking and vomiting. All of the food I eat comes back up instantly.

I spend most of my time on the bathroom floor next to the toilet, sitting alone and occasionally Angie comes in. Every move I make my whole body aches, and every time I think of him I cry.

I can't do this, it's too much, everything hurts so much. It's not just my body and head that feel like I'm being ripped in two, it's my heart that hurts every time I think of my parents and the way I let them down. Every second I was in their presence I could feel the disappointment and disgust seeping out of every pore in their body.

The pain is just too much and everything around me vanishes. I close my eyes and hold my head to make the pain go away. I finally give up and give into the darkness that's all to familiar.

Flashback

Silence surrounds us.

All you can hear are the silverware hitting the expensive plates; you can practically feel the tension in the room. My parents carry on cutting the their chicken while I avoid the green and slimy peas.

Everything gets silent when my dad puts down his knife and fork and clears his throat. Mom takes a sip of her wine and I stare blankly at the disgusting green balls.

The silence is broken when dad speaks, "So, Charlotte, how was your school day."

I hear my mom mutter but only catch a few words, "If she actually went."

My moms assumptions are correct but thankfully I know how to lie like a canary, thanks to my new 'friends'. My answer comes smooth, calm and convincing.

Hopefully.

"Yes, school was good today. In English we started Shakespeare." The only reason I know that is because when I actually went to class that day, Mr. Carol introduced the book we'd be reading. But after I was in there for 20 minutes I got up and left, not even looking back.

"Well, that's good." my dad responds. Mom just rolls her eyes even though I can tell she believes me.

"I'm going upstairs", I say a few minuted later.

When I'm already halfway across the lavish dinning room my mom calls for me.

"Charlotte, come here for a moment." I can't even get away for one second, god. I turn around on the balls of my feet and come a little closer.

"We are worried about you." My dad begins. I scoff and turn around quickly.

"Come back here young lady!"

I ignore them and head towards the front door.

"If you walk out that front door you will be grounded missy!" My mom adds. I open the door and slam it behind me. I can hear them yelling after me, but I just ignore them like I used to ignore the jocks.

I jump into my car and start the Mercedes. It was a 16th birthday present from my parents, they only did it since I never bothered them and kept straight A's. I'm not so much like that anymore.

I don't know how I got here. I turn off the elegant black car and head up the walkway. I knock gently on the door, and wait for him. The door creaks open and he stands there in all his glory.

Cody.
