Chapter 2 - Daydreaming About Chemistry
Hayley's P.O.V.
"Get out of bed Hunter!" I nagged as I knocked on his door for the millionth time. And again, I heard no response.
"Hunter." Knock.
"Hunter." Knock.
Hunter." Knock.
I'm starting to feel like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.
"What!" I heard him yell. "Get your lazy butt out of bed. Your friends are coming to pick you up in ten minutes!"
"Crap! Why didn't you wake me up earlier?"
"I've been calling you for the past half-hour! I'm not your alarm clock."
I heard grumbling and five minutes later, Hunter came out dressed. Except he looked like he had just rolled out of bed.
"Fix yourself up Hunter. You have admirers to please." I said sarcastically.
He waved me off as he started walking down the marble steps to the ground floor.
Our house is fairly new. Father had it built for us two years ago. You can tell he splurged out a lot of money for the house, well more like mansion. Marble tiles in the kitchen and hallways. Everywhere else has black floorboards other than the rooms. All the bedrooms are customised. Mine has white carpet and bright green walls with a big bed and plenty of space for studying. And I should mention that it's the size of a living room in a normal person's house. Hunter's room is similar, except for the dark-blue walls and mess everywhere. The only way he'll clean up is if he has a girl coming over, which is often. But his room still somehow get's messy. There are a lot of spare bedrooms that always get used when friends of my parents come over.
There's a kitchen that looks like it's straight out of a home-design catalogue. Well, the whole house looks like that. A living room with the biggest T.V I've ever seen and we even have a home-theatre room in the basement. All the bathrooms are completely white with everything you'll ever need in them. Each bedroom has an ensuite and a walk-in-wardrobe. Also a whole garage downstairs where everyone keeps their designer cars. We have an attic but no-one goes up there. Except me, I usually go up for some quiet time. It's a lovely view, if you like watching the expensive neighbourhood that we live in.
And to include to the mansion, green, manicured gardens that stretch out, long enough to fit another mansion on it out the back and a large pool and the outside of it looks like something from Home Design.
In summary, our house is expensive, modern and massive, and I hate it. I would rather live in a small apartment with three other people. But as if my parents would let me do that, I've asked enough times before and every time I get the talk about 'being honoured to have our wealth'.
Hunter finally left the house. I could tell after hearing all the commotion outside made by his friends.
I was already dressed in my usual attire. Tights and a sweater. I don't care if it's a billion-degrees outside, I'll still wear this. I'm not body conscious, because I do look after myself, so the outcome is a petite figure. It's that I would look out-of-place. I blend in with these clothes.
Tori is the opposite. She absolutely loves all her flannels and would never trade them for the world. She too is petite but bold. She'll do anything to stand out. Not because she wants to be popular, but because she doesn't want to be 'average'. She wants to be remembered. But she usually turns out being suspended or have months of detentions.
I walked into the kitchen and I found my parents kissing each other. They are really into the PDA thing. Hunter and I both have attributes from both parents. Our blue eyes from both parents and our blonde hair from mom. They are both blond but dad's hair is more brownish.
